On behalf of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), the Highlands County Economic Development office is coordinating a roundtable discussion with DEO.

The Governor created a special initiative to work with communities whose economies have not recovered as quickly as other areas in Florida. The project is called the 12 Counties Initiative. As the name implies, the Governor selected 12 counties to work with on this special project, and Highlands County is one of the selected communities.  The roundtable provides an opportunity for local stakeholders to network with state agencies and to discuss the strengths, challenges and top priorities of economic development in Highlands County. These top priorities will be used by the state to develop a tangible roadmap for recovery as well as match the priorities with potential state and federal resources.

Please let us know if you are able to attend via the above registration link. Your rsvp will help us ensure we provide adequate seating and materials. Also,
please feel free to send a representative in your place.
